Both light and shadow are the dance of love. – Rumi
The story behind Ziva is a story of finding one’s own path and creating relevance in life and business. As I was looking for a word that is meaningful, deep, and worthwhile, I started playing around with mindfulness, enlightenment, and similar words. I wanted to have a clear connection between my own values and the work that I do but I also wanted to clearly show the goals behind my work.
I didn’t want to choose a word that is overused or misused. With the help of one very special person who understood that I need to have meaning in this process of my work, we chose the word ZIVA.
As some might know, the word ZIVA has its roots in more than one language–this particular understanding is derived from Shona, the beautiful language of one of my closest friends and sister. It means to perceive or understand the truth, to have a clear or distinct perception or apprehension of something, to understand or comprehend clearly and fully. It means to be conscious of perceiving truly. ZIVA also has wider significance and beautiful meanings in other languages, such as radiance, brilliance, and light.
I needed to connect emotions, meaning and the essence of my photography work into a word -Ziva-
The moment I heard the word and its meaning it all started making sense. ZIVA is a word that carries meaning, allows me to honor people I love, and encapsulates what I strive for in my work. I am always thriving to understand what I see, capturing the beauty and truth in front of me while playing with light, bringing brilliance and radiance into my work and life.
The ZIVA way is a path to create balance in your life that allows you to thrive and create a business/carrier that is fulfilling.
My work connects emotions with the story of an object. No matter if you are looking to find clarity in your work, create more purpose in your life or build up the confidence you need in order to achieve your dream goals – The Ziva Way will guide you through obstacles and support you in finding clarity.
This year I will be traveling to Germany, Poland, Thailand, and South Africa. Let me know if you would like to book sessions in any of these countries, or even in others.
